Carmen Carrera Compares RuPaul and Trans Slur Users to Lemmings

The harm that the word “tranny” does to transgender individuals is serious. The damage is real. And while the word has been used in other parts of the queer community, it is overwhelmingly seen in a negative light and used as a slur by wider society. Specifically, towards transgender women, although sometimes mistakenly applied to drag queens.

However, this is a somewhat hilarious spin on the issue, and I have to admit, as serious as the topic is, I’m laughing at Carrera’s choice to either make (?) or post this particular image. It succinctly points out that there is no good place to go on the issue of the use of “tranny.”

There is nowhere to go but down.
