Bollywood Inspired PSA from the UN Has a Surprising Gay Twist

Did you know that it is against international law to discriminate based on sexual orientation or gender identity? The United Nations would like to remind you that such an international law exists—oh, and even if it didn’t, discriminating against people for those reasons is just plain shitty.

The UN Free & Equal has produced a short Bollywood inspired music video about a man in India bringing his partner to meet his family for the first time. The video is pretty clearly a nod to increasing tension within India concerning the rights of LGBT+ individuals within the vary diverse South Asian nation. India recently re-criminalised same-sex relations while at nearly the same time finally granting legal recognition to the transgender community.

How noticed such a video will be in the country it represents in the music video is still to be seen.
